I had a great time birding with Carlos and Carla. They have re-inspired me to pursue birding again. They made special efforts to make the day memorable with lunch, pictures, a medieval graveyard visit and a hoopoe! It really made my trip to Portugal wonderful and they are great ambassadors for Portuguese culture. My birding highlights include the Hoopoe, Eurasian Jay, Ruddy Shelduck, Eurasian Kestrel, the plovers and much more.

I had a great birding experience with Carlos at Estuário do Cávado. I wanted to maximize my trip, as time was very short. Carlos is a very knowledgeable guide, that was able to go straight to key areas where I was able photograph the Pandion haliaetus and the Gavia immer. Seeing 32 different species in a day was very interesting.

Great day out with Carlos (and guides Rui and Luis). Cold northerly wind, so not too much on show. However, the company (and the lunch!) more than made up for this.

This tour is definitely worth doing, because as well as benefitting from Carlos's expertise and knowledge, you get to places you'd absolutely never find on your own. This was less like a commercial transaction and more like a day out with three friends. Essential for all nature lovers who are in the area - don't miss this.

We spent a delightful day birding in the Parque Litoral North just north of Porto. Our guides Carlos and Fredericko were very knowledgeable and personable. Even though the weather was not so kind, Carlos and Fred ensured we saw lots of great birds. They took us to excellent bird hides and we were able to get closeup views of waders and raptors. The trip package included a very nice lunch at a local restaurant and a very good regional birding book compiled by Carlos. A great break from city travel with excellent company.

Not a big species day at first due to morning fog, Autumn is just starting here in Porto. We did manage to see some great birds and enjoy time in the morning fog with dew covered spider webs. We got great looks at 2 male Blue throats at Esposende through the bird blind(new species for me) and a very vocal European Robin singing its heart out! We saw Ringed Plovers, Knots, Green and Red Shanks, Little Egrets, Godwits, Dunlins and Gray Herons. We also had a fantastic traditional Portuguese lunch. Great day outdoors and a fabulous company. Carlos is wonderful, I highly recommend!! Carlos is an amazing photographer and really knows his birds.

Carlos is amasing, i went this tour with one of my friends, we really enjoyed it. Carlos is so kind, he shows and explains every detail of birds. We went very nice places and Carlos showed birds on his book that we didnt see that day. Also fish that i ate on lunch was delicious, highly recommended!

I would highly recommend this day tour for anyone interested in wildlife birds and wanting to explore the beautiful countryside.

We really enjoyed the day with Carlos and Luis. We visited several interesting sites and despite it was off-season for birdwatching, we were able to locate many species we were looking for.

We enjoyed the fields near coast, we went into the mountains and we naturally visited coastland as well.

Hoopoes, warblers, plovers, dunlins, to name a few, all really enjoyable!

Great birding experience with Carlos and Louis! The combination of these two gentleman is something I won’t forget quickly. Louis, the enthusiastic, super-friendly driver and Carlos, the wise and funny birding expert.

We’ve seen 18 different bird species, with the European Roller and Osprey (with fish in his claws) as two highlights.

Carlos and Renata were fabulous guides. They made us feel very comfortable and Carlos’ knowledge and experience is incredible.
